4. Minori

Per segnalarlo: info@bookflow.it.

8. I tuoi diritti

Courtesy translation of the Italian version. In case of discrepancies, the Italian version prevails.

This policy explains what personal data Bookflow collects, why we use it, who we share it with and what rights you have. It is written in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 ("GDPR") and the Italian Personal Data Protection Code (Legislative Decree 196/2003, "Privacy Code").

1. Data controller

Bookflow is a project run, pending the establishment of a legal entity, by Manuel Terranova, Valerio Mannone, Giacomo Pirrone and Giulio Cabibbo, who act as joint controllers under Art. 26 GDPR. The single point of contact for any request about personal data is:

  • Email: info@bookflow.it
  • Contact person: Manuel Terranova

When Bookflow is established as a legal entity, this policy will be updated with the new controller's details and we will let you know by email.

Technical data

  • IP address, device and browser type, access logs

We do not collect special categories of data (for example health data, political or religious opinions) and we ask you not to include them in listings or messages.

g) Complying with legal obligations and responding to requests from authoritiesLegal obligation (Art. 6.1.c GDPR)

On promotional communications (purpose f). You will receive them only if you give consent through an explicit action: for example by clicking "Yes" in one of our emails and confirming your choice on the page that opens, or by switching on the option in the app. Opening an email or a link, on its own, does not count as consent. Consent is optional: if you do not give it, you can use Bookflow exactly as before. You can withdraw it at any time with the "I no longer want to receive these emails" link in every communication, by writing to info@bookflow.it, or from the app settings, when available. Every communication that concerns a partner says so clearly.

On partner content in the app (purpose e). It is shown based on the app section you are visiting or the school level in your profile, never based on your browsing behaviour. We do not use profiling cookies and we do not build advertising profiles.

We do not take decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal effects on you.

4. Minors

Bookflow can be used by anyone who is at least 14 years old. Under Art. 8 GDPR and Art. 2-quinquies of the Privacy Code, from age 14 you can give consent to the processing of your data on your own, including consent to promotional communications, which is always optional. The rules of the Terms of Service also apply to the use of the service by minors.

Registering under the age of 14 is not allowed. A parent or guardian can register with their own account to manage the books of a child of any age. If we find that we have collected data of a person under 14 who registered on their own, we delete it. To report this: info@bookflow.it.

5. Who we share data with

We do not sell your data and we do not disclose it to partners. Data may be processed by:

  • Other users, limited to name and username, when you interact with them (listings, chats, proposals, reviews)
  • Technical providers acting as processors (Art. 28 GDPR): Supabase (database and authentication, servers in the EU), Resend (email delivery), Lovable (web app hosting at app.bookflow.it), Netlify (hosting of the bookflow.it showcase website), Google (only if you choose to sign in with your Google account)
  • Competent authorities, when required by law

If you click on a partner's content and choose to give them your data (for example by booking a call on their site), you give that data directly to the partner, who processes it as an independent controller under their own privacy notice. The link to the partner does not contain data that identifies you: it only indicates that you come from Bookflow and from which channel. We share only aggregate numbers with partners (for example how many clicks or bookings a campaign generated), never data relating to individuals. Likewise, the partner does not tell us the data of those who book: at most the number of calls booked, held and enrolments, needed to calculate our fee. The listings you publish (title, author, price, condition, photos) may also be shown in the showcases of selected partners, which always link back to Bookflow to contact the seller: your name, username and contact details never appear in these showcases.

6. Transfers outside the EU

Database data is stored on servers in the European Union (Ireland). Some technical providers may also process data outside the European Economic Area; in those cases the transfer takes place only with the safeguards provided by Arts. 44–49 GDPR, such as a European Commission adequacy decision (for example the EU-US Data Privacy Framework) or standard contractual clauses.

7. How long we keep data

  • Account data, listings and messages: until the account is deleted or until you ask for deletion
  • Consent to promotional communications: until withdrawn; proof of consent and withdrawal is kept for as long as needed to demonstrate them
  • Technical logs and data on views and clicks on partner content: at most 12 months, then only in aggregate and anonymous form
  • Data needed for legal obligations: for the period required by law

8. Your rights

You have the right to request access to your data, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and portability; to object to processing based on legitimate interest; and to withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

To exercise them write to info@bookflow.it: we reply within one month. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (www.garanteprivacy.it).

9. Cookies

Bookflow uses only technical cookies necessary for the service to work, such as session management. We do not use profiling cookies or third-party advertising cookies.

10. Security

We adopt appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect data, including: encrypted communications (HTTPS/TLS), secure authentication, row-level data access controls (Row Level Security), and checking passwords against databases of compromised credentials.

11. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy significantly, we will tell you by email before the changes take effect. New purposes based on consent apply only to those who expressly give it: simply continuing to use the service never counts as consent to promotional communications.
